How do you decide which golf instruction tips to listen to? There are good golf instruction tips and of course there are bad tips.
That question can be difficult to answer because each player requires unique golf instructions to suit, not only their ability but also their style and technique of swing.
When I play with friends they often ask me for a golf instruction tip or advise on various parts of their game. I am quite happy and enthusiastic about helping them, however it is much easier to offer advise when I play with them, as I can watch the way they approach each shot.
I believe that you should only give a player a golfing tip if you are sure that it will fit in with the rest of their swing. I have seen far too many players lose their swings, usually because they are now focusing on that new tip that they were given while playing a round of golf, and trying to adopt that golf tip which simply does not fit in with everything else that goes on when they swing the club.
Now, I know, there are specific golf instruction tips which are universally sound, and accepted like, “keep your eyes down and head up.” But as there are plenty of other tips and instructions that can prove to be detrimental to a player, even when given with the best of intentions.
